Jan Term Abroad (Open to McDaniel students and non-McDaniel students)
Each January, several McDaniel faculty members take students abroad for special topics classes. Locations and topics vary year to year. Jan term programs are typically announced over the summer, and most application deadlines are in September.
McDaniel Budapest (Open to McDaniel students and non-McDaniel students)
The Budapest campus has been our signature program since 1994 and is the most popular semester-long destination. Exciting and dynamic classes are offered in areas such as global studies, business, and liberal arts. All classes are taught in English, and federal, state and institutional aid may be applied to this program.
The Budapest campus offers three programs:
- Crossroads of Europe, Crossroad of the World – This program examines, inside and outside of the classroom, not only how Europe and the world meet in Budapest, but also how multiple ethnicities, classes and other social groupings conflict, coexist and provide an environment for cultural synergy and artistic achievement.
- Business and Economics in Budapest – This program allows students to study principles of business and economics from a unique, European perspective.
- The Liberal Arts in Europe – This program allows students to decide how to shape their studies. Select classes from a wide variety of courses in the humanities, arts, journalism and communication, and social sciences.
Exchange Programs (Open to McDaniel students only)
On exchange programs, you pay McDaniel tuition (and sometimes room and board) and swap spots with a student at one of our exchange partners. These programs offer a unique opportunity to get immersed in a culture abroad as students take classes and live with local students. Federal, state, and institutional aid may be applied to these programs.
Affiliated Programs (Open to McDaniel students only)
McDaniel College partners with about 30 universities and program providers, which administer hundreds of programs to over 50 countries. Our partners offer programs in a wide variety of subject areas, and offer academic year, semester, summer, and Jan term programs. Chances are whatever unique area of interest you may have, our partners will have a program for it. Federal and state financial aid may be used to cover the costs of these programs.
