We host job and internship fairs throughout the year, with over 50 community partners present at each one and hundreds of students.
Our next one is on March 6th, 2019, from 11 am - 2 pm in the Forum. Click here for a list of attending employers!
Handshake (our opportunity database)
Handshake is our system of record to find on-campus employment, internships, and full-time jobs. Log into the database with your McDaniel login and password. To learn more about utilizing Handshake to search for on-campus employment, click here.
In addition to searching for opportunites, you can schedule a 1x1 career counseling appointment with a staff member through Handshake. Log into Handshake with your McDaniel information, click on "Career Center," and then on "Appointments."
Graduate and professional school resources
Our staff can help you learn more about graduate school. We work with students and alumni to determine when graduate school is an appropriate choice and identify programs that fit their personal goals.
One of the great services we offer is resume and cover letter reviews both both students and alumni. Students are encouraged a 30 minute appointment with a student ambassador or staff member.

- Career and Interest Assessments: Are you looking for free online assessments that could help you better understand your skills, aptitude, and talents? We recommend Holland Code (takes 10-15 minutes) and 16Personalities (takes 10-20 minutes).
- Join LinkedIn and professional groups: LinkedIn is a professional networking website. We encourage you to create a full profile and network with alumni via McDaniel College. In addition, we encourage you to join a professional organization where you can learn more about industry trends. Students are able to get discounted membership fee, if not free membership, for most organizations.
We also help students navigate search engines beyond Handshake. We recommend the following search engines for job searching:
